The Road to Romance Casey Tomkins has left Boston for a five-day vacation in Belfast, Maine. Hoping to relax and unwind after caring for her mother for three long, tense months, she wants to find the peace and inspiration to start a second novel. Behind her, she’s left Brad Foster, a man whom she’s been dating for two years… until he suddenly called it quits on their relationship. But once settled at a quaint Bed & Breakfast called “Emerald Reflections”, her laptop computer goes on the blink. Widower Alex Kettner arrives to fix it. He and Casey are mutually attracted to one another and their relationship blooms.
A tragic love story that occurred in 1853 serves as a secondary plot, giving Casey the basis for her second novel. Encouraged and inspired, Casey finds a love of her own in the idyllic little town filled with history and nostalgia.
Emerald Reflections is a wonderful, quick read for a lazy afternoon, blessed with great, well-rounded characters and a truly lovely setting, a delight for the senses! The plot flowed smoothly, and while there were no surprises, this rich tale provides several hours of calm amusement to soothe ruffled nerves. The authors have done a great job transporting the reader to a gentler, kinder place, populated with generous and down to earth people. In fact, this reader is ready to hop into a car and drive to Maine…
