A Mother's Presence

The days of our youth and memories past,

In all their glories revealed,

Have a common thread passing through each

And is a wonderful story to tell.

The continuous blessings through all of time

From this year and all the others,

Is the loving kindness and wisdom we get

From the women we call our mothers.

They taught us about life, struggles with sin,

And everyday problems we’d find.

But they knew our soul was most important

And was a test of a special kind.

Many caring mothers from year to year

Are the ones who showed the way;

Of Christ’s struggle and the path to salvation

And how we’ll answer some day.

And it’s those mothers from centuries ago,

And mothers here today

That we honor with justified reverence,

Because it’s for us they would pray.

Christ is the Savior; of this I’m certain,

There really is no other.

My hope is you find his redemption and love

From the gentle voice of your mother.

So, find her and thank her day in and day out,

Don’t let her question your love.

Whether you call her Mommy, Mother or Mom,

She was sent from Heaven above.
